IMPORTANT NOTICE!
The Flying Tigers field is now closed to 72 FM transmitters and receivers, channels 12 thru 60 due to safety concerns. We may only fly with 2.4 GHZ RX and TX. We are in the process of finding a place where those with 72 FM only may fly with no safety concerns.
For more information call Don Helps at 763-633-3567 or any other officer listed on the newsletter.
The Flying Season
The Flying Tigers' official flying season is May through September. During these months, a training program is
offered for new members. Advanced pilots donate their time
every Thursday night to teach new pilots how to fly. This is a great opportunity for the beginning R/C pilot. You will be
taught how to control your plane in the air, proper takeoff and landing techniques, and good safety methods for flying with others.
Most flying is done in the summer, but it is possible to fly
during the winter months. The club has set aside the third Sunday of every month as all season flier dates (weather permitting). The get togethers usually start around noon, and spectators are welcome. Throughout the summer, we have family weekend camping and flying activities.
Membership Fee
To fly at our club field, you must have AMA liability insurance. The cost is approximately $60 and that allows you to fly at our field and other club's fields across the U.S. Our dues are $30 a year and this includes the club's monthly newsletter. New members pay $60 and that covers their first 2 years plus training.
